The SSPX met with Cardinal Fredendez at the Vatican today, and I'll just summarize it.

Basically, Cardinal Ferdandez said, absolutely no way on consecrating five new bishops on July 1st.

This was a smackdown.

This was a slam.

It's not even on the table.

They said it would break communion.

And instead, what Cardinal Fernandez suggested to the SSPX is a commission, a dialogue on Vatican 2 and on the ascent of faith,

and what that entails on various degrees of submitting to the Magisterium as it regards an ecumenical council,

Second Vatican Council, and papal statements.

For example, the recent statement that Cardinal Fernandez wrote on co-redemptrics and mediocratrics,

which we've been discussing.

I'm in a different place right now. I'm in Rome. I'm actually in Rome right now with our pilgrimage, with all of our fantastic pilgrims. We're

having a traditional Latin Mass pilgrimage in Italy. We had a beautiful traditional Latin Mass

today and are very blessed. And we didn't know that we'd be here at the same

time as the SSPX with this now controversy. And this morning, Joy and I, we went to St. Peter's.

We're going to go in, but the lines were really long and it was raining. So we just stood outside

St. Peter's and prayed because I thought either the meeting has already happened or it's happening now or it's about to happen that there would be

unity in love and unity in charity unity in truth

The baptized should all be united, ideally, in the faith, in the sacraments, in the liturgy, in our morality, and with the Holy Father, and with the apostolic Sea of Rome.

And this whole dialogue, this whole discussion

since 1970, particularly with Archbishop Marcel Afev and the Society of St. Pius to 10th is,

I think, reaching a breaking point. I was hopeful, of course, in Rome, everyone's talking about

...
