history class, with me your host, Katie Chalwood, history harlot and reader of books. It has been a while since you've heard

my voice if you are a regular listener and you might be thinking, hey, you've been away for a while

and didn't really explain why. That is true. That is a factual statement. I did not explain why. If you are new here,

hello, welcome. Thank you for joining. My language is colourful, so you may want to get used to that.

And yes, so here's the situation. I haven't really put it up on social media

because I didn't really want to make too big of a deal

because I'm trying to get things sorted,

but the people who need to know, no.

And it's hard.

This is a hard thing to say.

So, the long and short of it is, I was the victim of an assault, a violent assault.

Not essay, not essay, but someone came into my home and physically attacked me and put me

and my family in danger.

And so for their safety of mine, everything had to get flipped. My life was

flipped upside down and I had to find somewhere else to go, somewhere that was going to be safe

for me and my family. And I am so lucky that I have people in my life that were able to

facilitate that for me.

And I cannot convey how grateful I am to them for doing this.

They don't listen to the podcast.

They don't listen to anything I do.

But they made sure I was safe, you know.
