Every age has its heresy. You lived in the 300s. That heresy was Arianism, the denial

0:08.9

that Jesus is God. If you lived in the 700s, the heresy was iconocasm that we shouldn't have images or pictures of

our Lord Jesus Christ, of our Lady of the Saints.

If you lived in the 1500s, that heresy was Lutheranism and Protestantism

and abandonment of the sacraments in favor of a novel doctrine that we are justified by faith alone.

But what if you're a Catholic and you live in the early 2000s?

What is that heresy? Well in general it's probably modernism was defined and condemned by Pius the 10th in the last century,

evangelized in the 300s by Ulfius who was an Arian, a semi-Arian.

He'd been ordained by that Wicked Eusebius,

who was the court chaplain in Constantinople for Constantine and Constantine sons.

And Eusebius spread Arianism to the north to these Gothic tribes that were in what's modern day Germany. Mostly they moved

1:57.0

towards France and eventually into Spain and there was two tribes. There was the Visigothic. They were in

2:02.1

Spain and there was the Austro Gothic. They were the ones to the east who were in Italy and just north of Italy there. And these Catholic bishops, of course they taught, they preached that Christ was fully God,

God from God, light from light, true God, begotten not made,

consubstantial homoousion with the father.

was reciting the creed in the liturgy. They also, in a controversial step, added the word in
