Today, I'm standing on Rubens Road in North Holt, U.B. 5.

4 miles north of the discovery of Alice Gross.

5 miles west of the child rapist known as the Beast,

4 miles south-west of the bungled drugs trial at Northwick Park Hospital,

and 3 miles west of the picturesque sights of Horsenden Hill,

a scene forever stained by the unsolved murder of schoolgirl Hannah Deterville, coming soon to Murder Mile.

Situated off the busy White Hart roundabout, Rubens Road is an odd little L-shaped street at the back of Lime Tree Park. Like many West London estates, whereas once this was a field for as far as the eye could see,

it has since been spoilt by the thoughtless erections of unimaginative builders,

comprising of terraces, a few trees, several box-like flats, and

a few odd lumps of rock which litter the land for no reason whatsoever.

As a stranger to this street, I can't say that I felt welcome.
