Hello and welcome to many episode 127 of Real Life Gold Stories, and I have two spooky stories

for you today and the last story comes from June 1st 2021 and story number one comes from

Diane. It was 1992 and I was 4 years old and my family moved into a house that was pretty new.

It had only been occupied by the builder for a short period of time before he decided to sell it,

and as far as we knew the land prior was designated as farmland, as was most of the town,

so it was never occupied in any other capacity. Growing up I insisted on sleeping with my door

all the way open and usually with something placed in front of it so I couldn't accidentally

close it somehow. We also always kept the whole light on. I would be woken up frequently by heavy

adult footsteps coming up the stairs and stopping at my door, and of course I would look and there

would be nothing there. It happened so much that I just got used to it and as long as the whole

light was on I felt safe. I mentioned it a few times to my parents but they just shrugged it off so

I eventually stopped bringing it up. I do believe my dad heard it though as we are both the light

sleepers of the family. I remember being woken up to him calling my name from his room and asking

why I was up walking around. He never admitted it but I think he was hearing the same footsteps I was

hearing by my door. My brother and I had shared a jack and gild style bathroom connecting our two

bedrooms, a point of money childhood fights. We would frequently lock each other out of the

bathroom to try and get some privacy and fame for getfulness. On several occasions I was woken

up to the sound of the sink on our cups scraping across the countertop. When I would yell at my brother

for waking me up I would get no response. After going into investigate I would see that the sink

was dry, there was a cup knocked over and his door was still locked so there was no way for him to

have gotten in unless he had come through my room in which case I would have seen him leave.
