My topic today is happiness is a choice. People say, well, that person just isn't making me happy.

them that much power over your life. Happiness is a choice. Let me give you some examples.

You get to choose whether the things that happen happen for you or to you, right? Will you be a victim

or will you use them productively? You get to choose to sweat what you can control or to focus on what you can't control.

Every day you get to choose that. Which do you think is going to lead you to the game change your life?

You get to choose to do something for someone else or just to wait for someone to do something for you.

Even if it's just giving them a compliment, you're going to feel better about yourself.

That'll make you happier. You get to choose whether you can be grateful or entitled,

whether you're going to create your own why and review your why or just bumble through life aimlessly.

You get to choose whether you're going to focus on what's next or continue to rehash and focus on what's behind.

Which do you think is going to make you happier?

You're going to choose to change your state when you feel stuck. Get out, take a walk, exercise, do something that requires discipline, make your bed, start doing something in the morning you feel now like I have accomplished something, and you're going to be happier than you were if you stayed in a funk doing nothing. I think you get the point.

Let me close by saying this. You may not be able to add years to your life, but you can add

life to your years. And you can start now by making happiness your choice and not being a victim

of unhappiness that someone else is trying to put on to your life.
