Summary

Rabbits! It's September on Planet Porky and as usual Mike Parry and Lesley-Ann Jones have plenty to say. Talking points today include: Alan Brazil's dramatic trip to Marbella, the incredibly sad death of Chadwick Boseman, people who die too young, whether LAJ ever had a crush on Sean Connery, the phenomenon of the debut album, showing erect penises on TV, the divisive nature of politics in the US (and whether societal change is possible), punishing celebrities for putting out doctored images of themselves, Richard Gere, gluten-free diets, autotune, a new Marc Bolan tribute album, exchanging pleasantries in the office, Sheridan Smith, celebs and their mental health issues, women's football, Melania Trump's curious demeanour and the anniversary of the biggest event of our time - the death of Princess Diana. We all remember where we were...

Okay, folks, thank you very much indeed for joining us today. You are, of course, listening to Life on Planet Porky, the podcast that is searing across the universe. In fact, many universes, in fact, even the Milkyky way. How's the milk supply, Leslie Ann?

0:40.3

Well, the oat milk supply is doing very well at this end. Thank you, Michael.

0:44.1

Yes, good. I'm glad to hear that. And I really want to thank all the people who are tuning in and listening to Planet Porky. Our numbers are steadily rising, which is a great thing.

0:52.1

Thank you very much indeed for those who've jumped on board. We will continue to try and provide you with the entertainment and information

0:59.2

generated by the combined brainpower of myself and Leslie Ann. Now, Leslie, I don't know if you're

1:06.2

aware of this, but you may have seen some reports in the last couple of days of my broadcasting colleague,

1:13.0

Mr. Alan Brazil, performing as a hero in Spain. He's got a place in Marbea. He goes over there,

1:19.5

he goes out for lunch, a place called Laguna, and he's in a restaurant in a complex of sort of,

1:25.1

you know, restaurants and shops and bars and that kind of stuff.

1:28.3

And he's suddenly aware of the fact that there seems to be sort of bits of sutter and that sort of stuff

1:32.9

floating around and dropping into his soup and looks up to find that the fetched roof across the

1:37.9

whole of the complex is on fire and everybody's got to get out, got to evacuate.

1:43.8

Al runs into the kitchen, alerts the,

1:47.7

you know, the chef and the cooking staff guides him out to the restaurant. And within minutes,

1:53.3

the place was burnt down. It was horrific. And there's a video of Al-standing in front of the

1:57.1

building with the, and it's burning down behind him. But the one thing that everybody

2:01.2

points out to me when they look at the video is the fact that in his left hand, he still has

2:05.9

his glass of wine, which he rescued from the table, even though the flames were licking about him.

2:11.8

Some story of heroism, I think. Well, I think he actually needed that glass of wine, didn't he,

2:17.1

after what had just happened. But I think, I think he actually needed that glass of wine, didn't he, after what had just happened.

2:18.4

But I think, I'm right in saying that he thought it was a barbecue that had sort of gone up in smoke, as it were, to begin with.

2:25.8

And then realized what was going on.
