Hi everybody, it's Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

This is a podcast topic that never crossed my mind until it was brought to my attention

a few months ago.

In fact, in all of our brainstorming sessions, this idea has never even been mentioned.

But leave it to today's guest to come up with a totally unique angle for a gardening

book and discussion.

Just when I thought every topic of gardening has been covered in a book at least once before

and usually way more than that, here comes Kendru's author of 20 or so books, including

some of my favorites, like his one on plant propagation titled Making More Plants, and

then another one on shade gardening.

And then he's got others that I love just as much.

But with his newest book, The Sensual Garden, and sensual is spelled as it relates to fragrance.

Yes, Kendru wrote a book about exploring the world of botanical fragrance, which is also

the subtitle of his book.

So think about that for just a minute.

How many of us have ever designed our garden around how it smells?

Or maybe a better way to say that is by the fragrances emitted by those plants?
