Summary

Our natural inclination is to want to organize someone else or dive deep into organizing our "passions."

The easiest way to actually GET ORGANIZED is to go through your home in a logical progression starting with one room and slowly working your way through the whole house.

But we get stopped by wanting to organize family members or jumping into the deep end with Passion Projects.

Everyone has 1-3 current Passion Projects. Passion Projects are hobbies, memory items or pursuits that we identify with and make us come alive. We over buy and over collect in these areas because our desire to know and do more is unquenchable.

Passion Projects are not necessarily a monetary investment. But they are always a huge emotional and time investment.

Because we are so passionate and invested in our hobbies, we naturally want to get those organized first. Which is always a bad idea.

Passion Projects are hard to explain to others. We do not have a rational reason why we are saving what we are saving, but we knew we "need" to.

I am totally cool with that, but overtime I want you to get down to 1-3 Passion Projects. You can't be passionate about everything...

In 2017 I am going to dive deep into organizing Passion Projects. For now, focus on decluttering and organizing any nonPassion Project space in your home.

0:44.7	passion projects we have items and crafts and hobbies and ideas and things that we each two in our life that are non-negotiable like
0:56.8	don't touch it like this is the thing that I'm gonna keep and I'm not gonna
1:01.1	declutter and I don't care what you say this is me.
1:04.8	And I am going to define those as passion projects.
1:09.0	And I really want to take this podcast and develop this idea of what is a passion project, what are your passion. this you're going to be able to identify what your passion projects are and the other
1:24.8	people's in your home. And once we understand this it is easier to actually
1:30.0	get our homes organized over time.
1:34.4	So this idea of passion projects are the things that when I mentioned decluttering those,
1:41.0	you like put up these brick walls and you say yeah I totally understand
1:45.1	organizing all the medicines in the linen closet but if you think I'm getting
1:48.9	rid of one book Lisa you are crazy books are for reading and knowledge and growth and I will never get rid of a single book ever.
1:57.0	That's your passion project. For me, I love printed photos. I have 100 printed photo albums. I'm sure when I say that half of you go that lady is crazy like
2:10.3	Doesn't she know we're in the digital age? You could share all those on Dropbox.
