Today's kind of a big deal.

Today we had a solemn high traditional Latin Mass in honor of St. Michael the Archangel,

by the way, happy Michaelmas to everyone. Today is the Feast of St. Michael.

Solem high, traditional Latin Mass, at the altar of St. Michael,

where? In St. Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican. And as far as I know, there hasn't been a public

traditional Latin Mass at the Vatican, St. Peter's

Basilica, and I think years used to be pretty common. When I was teaching seminarians in Rome,

you could go to the altar every morning, the altar of the Transfiguration near the sacristy

at the Vatican. and there was a traditional

Latin Mass there.

There was a great priest named Father.

It was his name.

Sosman, I believe it was.

And he said that traditional Latin Mass there.

Often I went there often when I was in Rome in St.

Peter's.

You could just walk up traditional Latin Mass.

That started to go away under Pope Francis.

And today, we see not just a Latin Mass, not a low mass, not a private mass, a public

Latin Mass, solemn high mass.

Solem High Mass is where the priest is flanked by a deacon and a subdeacon right there in St. Peter's Basilica.
