Jacob Bertrand Jansick. We're both here in Washington, D.C. united by the Interwebs across the House of Studies, which is a kind of big house, so it's not super convenient

to walk from his office to mine. I'm on Michigan Avenue, and he's in the back corner. So I guess this makes sense. But it is in fact

the easiest way for us to record and give you the fine quality audio and video that our

podcast is quickly becoming known for.

That's right. Yeah, not so much content, but that really, you know, that digital, that

tech, high tech, progressive tech kind of stuff, that's ushm that's our special our special sauce yeah people recognize that and they say that is the Dominican fathers yes

We're here you know approaching the end of the advent season, Christmas is swiftly upon us.

And in fact, by the time you listen to this episode, it may very well be Christmas.

Father Jacob Bertrand, do you have any last minute tips for getting ready for Christmas?

Make sure that the eggnog is spiked and that the tree is trimmed.

But seriously, I don't know, that's a good question.

Whenever the sort of like high holy days as it were, know the trudum Christmas are like right upon us it's kind of like I always think that like well that was advent even though there's still a couple days after like that was Lent it kind of was That was

all right, you know, sort of. But yeah, I, and that's not the greatest way to approach things

that sort of throw in the towel a couple days before.

But I think with one of the awesome things about Christmas in particular is the way by which the liturgy is set. So I think we might have talked about this in one of our Alexio episodes. The Christmas

Mass has different masses for the time of day that are specific to the time of day so you have the

vigil mass that has its own readings and its own prayers and then you have the

mass during the night or what people often call the midnight mass that also has

its own readings and prayers then then the mass at dawn, and then
