So it's just the two of us today and we thought we'd spend some time talking about iPad.

We've played with iPad a lot in prior shows but we've never really gone through what we consider to be the essential apps and workflows for iPads and this

seemed like as good a time as any so it's just the two of us today you you okay

with that? I'm good I you know I like it just being the two of us every now and

then yeah that's how we started this thing.

And this is kind of a good show for us to do now because we're just getting back off of Macworld

and I actually did Macworld.

I think I mentioned it in the last show, iPad only. And that was one of those things

that I really struggled with going back and forth is, oh, can I really do Macworld without my Mac? And that just kind of seems

a little wrong. But we've mentioned before when you and I have gone to conferences or

traveled or vacation and things like that it's you know taking a Mac is kind of like

taking a baby I mean they're so thin and small and tiny and but they can require a lot of

stuff sometimes. Yeah you know at Macworld this year I did a session on I books

author and I definitely needed a Mac there to do that but if it wasn't for that session I

I would have got by just fine with an iPad too. I mean the iPad is is really great

for travel it's it's not everything you get from a Mac.

I mean, I think like the multitasking suffers.

If you know, the idea of having an email and a web browser up on the screen at the same time

is something that can be really useful and it's just not possible.

But you can really get by with it.
