So this is the Bhagavad Gita class and we are studying the 10th chapter.

And now the problem before me is what's going on right now is Sri Krishna is pointing out

what in this world of nature, this

world, where can we focus and think of God?

See, the point here is often when you read about religion, spirituality, we are instructed

to turn away from the world and think about God.

And that's difficult. The mind always goes out to the world.

And in fact, the Upanishads say, because our minds are always running outwards,

we see the world, we do not see God. We see the world, we do not see our real nature.

The Catoopanishad says, the senses are turned outwards as if you know by a designer defect

and so we see the world that's what they're designed to do and you can't blame the senses

and then the senses run outward into the world the mind follows

there's a chair here you can sit you can come in the front if you want there's a chair here. You can sit, you can come in the front if you want. There's a chair here also. You got one?

So the mind runs after it and therefore we are engrossed in the world.
