I first I think maybe I need to apologize.

What have you done?

Well I was pretty heavy on the pitch last week.

That was good. We need the pitch. We need people who love

this program to help support it because otherwise we go silent. Tell them about

that. Well, neither you nor I takes a salary.

We put what money comes from the program back into it,

and a lot of that is simply getting it up onto the sites

from which people can download it and listen to it.

There's a fee to participate in the dissemination of public radio.

We have 60 or some stations around the country.

We get somebody who sends us a letter is really mad and I'm going to call a public radio and tell

them to stop your funding. Oh, I wish.

Yeah, they'll do that all right.

Yeah, we don't get any funding.

You know, we pay some money for the editing and technology, but essentially we're unpaid and we do it as a

labor of love and my goal is not to get rich doing it, my goal is to make it grow so that it can address more people.

I just came back from my annual Lewis and Clark trip and I met two dozen people who

listened to the Thomas Jefferson hour and when you hear them David, it's just,

it's so moving because this program makes a difference in people's lives.
