Yo, today's QOD is you gotta run after your destiny.

Welcome back to the QOD today show. I'm your host, Sean Crox and the Sean Crox and

calm happy labor day to you, my friend. We've got Bishop T. D. Jakes on the show today.

And you know what? Since today is labor day and most of us have the day off, it is the

perfect opportunity for us to to rest and to relax and enjoy these final days of summer.

But it's also the perfect opportunity to reflect and to think about December 31st, 2020 and all

of the excitement that you had, the anticipation that you had for the coming year, all the goals that you

said you were going to accomplish the dreams that you were going to achieve.

And to think about today, where you are right now in the ninth month of the year, did you think

that you would be farther along than you are? And the answer, the vast majority of us is

going to be yes. We thought we would be farther along than we are right now.

And there's a gap. There's a huge gap. And before you know it, it's going to be December 31st, 2021.

We're going to do this whole thing again. So if you've been just like plotting along, you know,

trying to reach your goal, but not really making any progress, you got to ask yourself is the time for you

to start running. And not just to start running, but to stay running to not let other people slow you

down to not let other things slow you down, but just start running after your destiny. And what I love most

about this clip is when he says something to the effect of you got to run after your destiny because

it can distance you from your history. There's this fantastic book we read in book club. I probably

read this before times in the last year. It is called How We Change by Ross Eleanor. And he breaks down

these 10 reasons why people stay the same. I think it's number eight is sameness, staying the same,

protects a monument to your pain, protects a monument to the pain of your past, because a lot of us don't
