I was away for the weekend for a conference for the Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton.

0:47.3

They had their annual conference down in New Orleans. So just think about that. Everybody loves New Orleans in July. That is the time to go to New Orleans. So it was a little hot down there. But there was a nice breeze. And where else do you get to swim through the air? I know. You really? But it wasn't quite that bad. I've had that feeling, though, where you feel like the air is kind of a solid mass.

1:12.5

Like, I can feel myself moving through it. But I've got to say this thing about that, because I've never been to a Chesterton conference before, it really made me think, being positive in your faith, like just being positive is a really good thing. And I, it was so

1:29.6

nice to be around people, because I do live a little bit online in the Catholic faith nowadays,

2:09.3

I struggled with it because I felt I had a satisfactory answer for me, but none of my answers were satisfying

2:18.4

the person who was asking me at the conference. And the essence of the question was, look,

2:24.3

I think the spirit of the question was Jesus fulfilled all these messianic prophecies. And so

2:30.1

the question was, why didn't the Jews recognize Jesus as the Messiah?

2:37.0

And the spirit of it was kind of like, well, wasn't it just obvious?

2:41.4

And I didn't feel like that it was obvious, but I couldn't communicate it well to this person.

2:48.7

So now you communicated in a way that will, like why didn't the Jews recognize him if it's also obvious?

2:54.6

Right. Well, I think that a few did, but very few.
