Today we have with us a very close personal friend of mine.

Thanks, John. For my listeners just to give a little bit of introduction,

Jackie is actually one of the main inspirations along with her wonderful husband

for me bringing back Mormon Stories Podcast and it began with an email that I received

several months ago and it had to do with Jackie who is still a believing member of the LDS Church

discovering that her husband had lost his faith and so the purpose of this podcast is to

to provide a first case study in what happens when one member of a couple loses their faith

and in this instance specifically we're going to be talking about it from the faithful spouse's

point of view and we're going to talk about what it's like to be the person who is a believer when

their spouse loses their faith we're going to talk about how it feels, how hard it is, what the

challenges are. We're going to talk about maybe a little bit about how not to react when that

happens, maybe some ways where reactions can be harmful and damaging and we're going to talk about

maybe some lessons that can be learned to make not only the transition easier but to help

make the marriage strong and maybe potentially even stronger than it was before one of the members
