Hey, everybody. We got a great one today, you know, for a change. And this time, I am not lying. I got Mark Elias and Ari Berman. Mark Elias, you might know from television. He's the Democrats' lead election lawyer.

You've probably seen him on your color TV.

Ari Berman writes from Mother Jones magazine about election law.

We've had them on together before.

They're always great, but this one, I don't know what happened, but they're on fire.

They worry that there's some complacency among Democrats because this past midterm just wasn't

the nightmare we anticipated in terms of voter suppression, but they are alarmed and warning

us about what's coming, what states are doing to make it harder for certain people to vote.

Who would that be?

Hmm.

People of color, immigrants, students, all of the above.

Here's a clip from the interview that sort of sums up the whole podcast.

It's Ari laying out a very scary future that Republicans have systematically created, a political system where there's just no recourse

to protect democracy. And then he sees where he's going, it kind of bails out with the lame, but I don't think

that's going to happen.

And I sort of call him on it and hilarity ensues.
