We saw a lot of big wide receiver contracts given out when free agency started.

Sammy Watkins for instance got a $16 million a year deal with 30 million guaranteed

after a fairly average season with the Rams this past year.

He's now one of the highest paid wide receivers in the entire league.

Jarvis Landry got a big contract.

Alan Robinson had a big payday after an injured season.

Even Dante Monkrye for set to make almost $10 million per season.

One in good pass catchers makes sense considering passing is so much more effective than rushing

in today's NFL.

You want to try to enhance the pass.

But you also have to wonder if teams are responding via free agency to what appears to be

an underwhelming wide receiver draft class.

Because let's be honest we really have been blown away by a ton of wide receiver prospects

over the last four seasons or since the historic 2014 class that gave us some of the biggest

names at wide receiver today.

Plenty of wide outs have been drafted in the first round.

But as today's guest Evan Silva noted wide receiver prices were a little inflated

soon after that 2014 draft because the NFL is just so prone to recency bias.
