Alright, this is an issue that only I am truly pissed off about.

Probably most people don't even know this is going on, but it's always been this just fucking bug-a-boo of mine.

Let's see.

It's the separation of church and state,

and specifically crosses where they shouldn't be.

The LA County seal for decades has had a contentious debate about

should a Christian cross be inside the seal?

And of course the answer is no.

And since from 1957 to 2004, here I'll read it.

From 1957 to 2004, the county seal featured a tiny gold cross floating above a rendering of the Hollywood Bowl.

But under pressure from critics who argued that the religious image violated the Constitution's separation church state,

the County Board of Supervisors voted three to two to remove the cross from the seal.

That vote sparked a multi-year legal battle that ended in 2007 when the US Supreme Court refused to challenge the county's decision.
