My name is Sarah Nukam.

I'm Simcian of the First Nations.

I am of the Eagle Clan.

The Simcian people are from British Columbia, Canada.

There was a small group that in 1887 broke off and moved down into southeastern Alaska

in the Aleutian Chain Islands and they established a community there called Metlecat La Alaska.

It is a Native American Indian reservation.

I'm so excited to be here today and share a little bit about my journey that I haven't

had an opportunity to talk about before.
