You know, once you start playing in in food or in water or in the power grid, you know, anything to do with transportation systems, the list goes on and on.

I mean, it is, it's lethal.

It may not have the same horrifying results

of a nuclear attack, but in the long term,

you can basically dismantle a country.

Ladies and gentlemen, lock up your laptops.

As y'all know, I've just got a southern drawl there, as y'all know I've been writing a book about the

sledge of secrets, partly because I can feel very much that secrets are fast becoming extinct. It used to be far easier to keep them because no one was

listening in or at least fewer people were. And then we had Orwell, George that is, worrying

about Big Brother in the 1920s but even he couldn't have

imagined sex robots listening in on our orgasms and pillow talk I'm sure

somebody will write in to say that Orwell did indeed

imagine those things but in any case that's what's going on today and things are

about to become even more surveillance, surveilled, and observed, until the privacy of one's own head

will no longer be a sanctuary for secrecy. I've been fortunate enough today to have been given

the chance to talk about hacking, computer security and the future of online spying

with Adam Levin of the What the Hack podcast on which I will be appearing myself.
