So we know about obviously all the clashes in 2019 in Hong Kong between you know people

protesting the frontliners against the state you know trying to bring Hong Kong

closer to China the dissolution of certain freedoms and democracies there.

Now it's 2021, it's a good two years later.

You're a local resident. You're a journalist there, you know about the situation, maybe just fill us in.

What is going on right now?

The truth is there isn't a lot going on politically.

Since the enactment of the national security law last year in July.

Pretty much all the prominent pro-democracy politicians have been rounded up and put in jail. They have not yet

been convicted of a crime, but many of them have been sitting in jail for months now and their bell is being repeatedly denied.
