New South Wales team Jessica Small and her best friend Vanessa were looking for a ride

to a friend's house.

A car pulled up and the two teens got in giving their destination to the driver.

As they pulled on to the road, the driver turned LaKarov and lunged at Jessica.

A struggle ensued and both teens jumped out of the car running, screaming for help.

When Vanessa reached a nearby home, she asked them for help, turning to see that both Jessica

and the man were gone.

For ten years, local police essentially ignored the story, dismissing it as a runaway situation.

Witnesses were ignored, evidence was destroyed without examination.

It wasn't until 2007 that an investigator with a genuine concern took over and began

looking into what should have been looked into years earlier.

23 years later, the image has become sharper and the events that transpired that night more

detailed, a suspect has been named and new information uncovered.
