Well, we got pretty serious.

What happened?

We just about made it through everything.

Here in the barn, you know know you and I show up a lot of kind of

shoveling stuff and moving hay and chasing cats and I had to talk to Charlie

this one he had this he was running the tractor like right by the

diesel tractor, ning, ning, ning, you know, hear that metallic de-sance sound of the fall.

So by the time we actually get in front of the microphones, we're usually a little rattled. But this

week, thanks to a question we put to our listeners a few shows ago, what are the five

things they might recommend to save or restore our republic we got a tremendous

response are you just really I mean impressed with the the stuff we got from

listeners yes and they are they're the best listeners in the universe they're

true what I love about it is is that our listeners actually They're the best listeners in the universe. They're terrific.

What I love about it is that our listeners actually really do care about the health of our

Republic. They're not bored by it.

They have good ideas too.

They have good ideas and they're all onto it that there are, here's the thing, here's the

Jeffersonian thing, David. There are things we can do to fix this country. We're not stuck.

We pretend we're stuck. We just let ourselves be stuck. We can fix it. We can do

electoral college reform. We can get at the problem of money in politics. We can do

something about term limits if we wish. We could force a balanced budget amendment. We can
