Summary

Katie Davis is a spiritual teacher and author who offers satsang worldwide. She is a graduate of the University of Washington, a former secondary school educator, a former owner of aerobics studios in the Pacific Northwest and mother of two. She is author of Awake Joy: The Essence of Enlightenment and since 1999, she has been traveling to share with people the radical possibility of Self-realization that is the end of all suffering, separation and the key to world transformation. Katie Davis was a Keynote Presenter at the Vancouver BC Convention Centre in Canada. She offers spiritual talks at church services or spiritual gatherings, corporations, hospitals, professional communities and organizations, schools, television and radio shows, as well as for community organizers worldwide that are offering talks in the form of satsang in public meetings, intensives, and silent retreats. In 1986, Katie Davis radically and spontaneously awakened to the ultimate reality of who we really are without practices or teachers. She had never meditated or even heard of enlightenment, Advaita Vedanta, Non-duality or Self-realization. Katie had no intellectual reference whatsoever for what had occurred. 0:45.3	I just finished it this morning, a very good book.
0:49.3	And Katie's story is a little bit unusual in that, and of course I'm going to let you tell it
0:55.6	and not me tell it but just to summarize in that she had a spontaneous and
1:01.5	irrevocable spiritual awakening without ever having really practiced any formal
1:08.4	spiritual practices nor studied with a teacher or anything like that. It just sort
1:13.6	of happened. But you say in your book that you had had a number of pretty profound spiritual
1:21.6	experiences in your childhood and youth. And so I was thinking it might be a good way to start.
1:27.9	If you could tell us the story of that awakening and perhaps precede that telling
1:32.4	with kind of a reference to some of these experiences you had as a child
1:36.8	and then leading up to this experience you had, well, actually teaching an aerobics class.
