Today's case is about the kidnapping and murder of a child that changed laws and paved the way for families of crime victims to become strong advocates for justice.

In October of 1993, a 12-year-old girl named Polly Class was abducted from her bedroom by a complete stranger who broke into the house as her

It happened in the small Northern California town of Petaluma. This crime happened just as cell phones and

the internet were emerging. People didn't have home security cameras and there was no DNA
