Number one, listen without interrupting. First Peter 3.1, it says, wives, likewise, be submissive

to your own husbands. And even if some do not obey the word, they without a word may be won by

the conduct of their wives. Wives, you can win your husband with your conduct without condemning.

Women have the power to influence men with words.

We can either build a man up with our words or destroy him.

Eve influenced Adam to sin.

Abigail influenced David away from committing sin with her respectable

words. Abigail, she didn't lecture, nagged world with David. She emphasized his calling,

destiny and integrity. She didn't do it by being negative, focusing on how stupid and wrong David was.

And David experienced the power of being forgiven of sin,

but this time when he encountered Abigail,

he experienced being kept from sin.

As you know, the story David was about to go

to wipe out this whole family unit

because they hurt him, offended him, etc. And so there is this power that every

wife has and that is to be able to listen to her husband without interrupting. The second thing

that a wife can do to show respect to her husband is avoid belittling him and being sarcastic.
