In a form of entertainment as wild and chaotic and weird as pro wrestling, there is no such thing as a sure thing.

Plans change pal, injuries can strike at any time and wrestlers can go completely mental and punch out their co-workers backstage.

And in the case of WWE, the Rock can show up and quickly put any and all creative plans in a blender.

The business is insane, things can change at any moment, and those are just a couple of the reasons why it rules.

But the insanity doesn't exactly make it easy to tell great stories a lot of the time,

and at no point in wrestling history has there been a period when a successful story is guaranteed.

Hype is a dangerous thing, and in in many cases it's probably best to make like public

enemy and not believe it.

But what about anti-hype?

What about the feuds and storylines for which the writing is scrawled across the wall from

day one?

If you're a cynical old git, those are a lot easier to predict.
