Words of a faceless being with limbs that escape the normal understanding of human physiology, flame your imagination,

and hold your attention. You find yourself jumping from post to post to post, entranced by the messages

and stories of this so-called

slender man. Pictures of the figure start to filter through and with

baited breath and curiosity you analyze each image with not an inch of the scrutiny and logical

deduction that an older and more disillusioned person may have. Where one may have

scoffed and laughed away at the images, you sit pondering about the veracity. Why couldn't it be real? Why were you

almost hoping they were real? A creaking noise snaps at your attention and your eyes dart from

the computer to the bedroom door.

A tiny pitter-patter of something beyond seeps under the frame, but then evaporates into silence.
