Hello, from CNN, I'm Joe Beck with the five things you need to know for Wednesday

December 20th. Former President Donald Trump says he'll fight his

disqualification from the Colorado primary ballot.

CNN's Marshall Cohen has more on how people have been reacting to the ruling this morning.

Well, the challengers who filed this case, they are taking a well-earned victory lap and

Donald Trump is bashing the courts and vowing to appeal. This was a historic

moment last night when the Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a four to three decision

that January 6 was an insurrection, Donald Trump engaged in the insurrection, and

that he is no longer eligible to hold office because of the 14th

amendments ban on insurrectionists serving in our government. That is just a

breathtaking level of accountability for January 6th.

But this is far from over and the decision has been put on hold until the start of next year

to give Trump time to appeal to the US Supreme Court.

The clock is ticking though, and Colorado election officials have said the matter needs to be settled

by January 5th, the deadline to set the list of candidates for the state's

GOP primary.

The UN Security Council could vote today on whether to call for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza after it was delayed yesterday.
