Thursday, April 11th. O.J. Simpson has died of cancer. He was 76 years old. His

family posted a statement on his official ex-account

saying he died yesterday surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Simpson soared to fame playing for the Buffalo Bills and started dabbling and acting while still playing ball.

But then he became the subject of film and TV himself.

Simpson rose to infamy, after his 1995 acquittal

in the brutal killings of his ex-wife,

Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.

The country was split after the verdict in what many called a trial of the century, with some

celebrating it and others in shock and horror.

In 1997 Simpson was found liable for their deaths. and guilty of armed robbery, kidnapping, and 10 other charges for an incident in 2007, but was released

on parole in 2017.
