Vice President Kamala Harris is trying to maintain her campaign's momentum

ahead of next week's Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

The last few weeks, she's been pulling large crowds.

She's gotten big bucks from donors of all sizes.

But is this enthusiasm translating to higher poll numbers?

CNN's Harry Enten's here to break down where the race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Harris stands with less than three months to the election.

Hey Krista, so the New York Times, Santa College polls that came out over this past weekend show a race in the and Michigan. In aggregate Donald Trump led in those states by a single point

back in May when Joe Biden was the presumptive Democratic nominee. Now in all

three of the states Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has a four-point advantage.

Why are these states so important?

Because if Kamala Harris is able to win in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, she could lose

in the Sunbelt battleground states and get to exactly 270

electoral votes the exact number needed to win.
