The world's number one golfer is on the course playing in the PGA Championship after a very chaotic morning

ESPN captured. Right now right now he's going to jail. Okay. He's going to jail

and it ain't nothing you can do about.

Scotty Sheffler was released from jail earlier this morning

after being charged with four crimes.

Court records say those counts include felony second-degree assault

of a police officer and reckless driving.

This all went down outside the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky, where one of the biggest

golf tournaments of the year the PGA Championship is being held.

When Sheffler was driving to the club this morning,

ESPN reports police instructed him to stop,

but the golfer tried to drive around the scene

of a fatal car crash involving a pedestrian.

Shefler said in a statement he never intended to disregard any instructions,

and there was a big misunderstanding between him and police on what he was supposed to do.
