Hey there from CNN, I'm Chris de Boe with the five things you need to know for Friday, April 26th.

The historicush money criminal trial against former President Donald Trump continues today,

with the first and only witness so far getting back on the stand for cross-examination.

David Pekker is the former publisher of the National Inquirer who told the jury over several

hours of testimony how they would catch stories that were unflattering to Trump and kill them.

And that included the hush money deal he allegedly helped Broker with the adult film star Stormy Daniels

ahead of the 2016 election, which is at the center of this case, as well as a catch-and-kill story about an alleged affair between Trump and former Playboy model Karen McDougal.

Trump has pleaded not guilty and has denied the affairs. The

defense is questioning pecker to try to poke holes at the tabloid king's

testimony for the prosecution. After establishing yesterday that the practice of

catch-and-kill long predated the run up to the election.

Something that looms over this trial is the judge's expected ruling on whether Trump violated the gag order placed on him.

A student demonstrations and arrests continue at colleges all over the country,

negotiations are ongoing on the campus that started at all.
