We live a very stressful life. We live a high-pressured life. I know families with small children

understand what I'm talking about, probably as much or more than anybody else. I was thinking

about how so many young moms are probably spending time, chauffeering kids in the car more than a bus driver does in a day.

And they do it all while they are texting and on the phone and putting the makeup on.

I see them in the traffic light, and I pray for them.

The pressure that we all face comes from myriads of places.

Sometimes the pressure and the stress comes from an unrealistic expectations that we place.

Sometimes the stress and the pressure just comes from the fast-paced life that we seem to be living in this society, or because we over-commit ourselves.

When that happens and we get overstressed or pressured in life, you discover one thing begins to take place, and

that is the priorities in life becomes out of Kelter. Our priorities get mixed up. And therefore,

the very concept of waiting upon the Lord for wisdom from above is so alien.

I know some of the young people listening to me and said, yeah, what is that waiting business?

I mean, you know, they're just an alien concept for them.

We don't wait much.

We do everything fast and we do everything instantaneously.

We are so afraid that we're going to miss out on something

that might bring us fulfillment. And so we go after it, and we go after it, and we end up not

finding it. We try to seize and squeeze every moment. No one ever said that waiting on the Lord to have his

wisdom is easy. You've never heard it from this Taipei personality. Waiting is never easy.

It's never easy. But when we don't wait on the Lord, we end up not only making

terrible mistakes, when we jump the gun, and when we pull the trigger prematurely, and when we

run in haste and make decisions, not only make mistakes, but we find
