Summary

This is an update for episode #21, which detailed the 2014 disappearance of an Army veteran. 26-year-old Chase Massner went missing in March of that year, and the last person to have seen Chase has since been arrested and charged. Now, that case has reached a resolution, and Chase been been laid to rest.

0:26.4	Chase Tyler Mazner was a veteran of the US Army, who returned to the United States following
0:32.0	a deployment to Iraq. He was later discharged from the military, and would struggle to assimilate
0:38.6	back into society over the next couple of years, having been diagnosed with both PTSD and
0:44.7	apparently bipolar disorder. To complicate matters further, Chase was married with two children.
0:50.8	He wanted to ensure a good life for his young family, but Chase often had to accept jobs that
0:57.3	offered little more than an hourly minimum wage. In 2014, right around, the time that Chase would
1:04.2	eventually go missing. He was working at a quick trip convenience store slash gas station in
1:09.8	Kennisau, Georgia, just off of Bell's ferry road. On March 26, 2014, Chase Mazner was picked up from
1:18.0	his mother's house by his wife, Amanda. The two had been arguing about money over the preceding
1:23.0	weeks, which had ultimately led to Chase staying the night at his mother's house. However,
1:27.8	the argument picked up again upon Chase getting picked up, and Amanda would drop him off just minutes
1:33.3	later at the quick trip that he worked at. From here, Chase made his way to the home of his friend,
1:39.1	Brad Clement, who lived just about a mile away from the quick trip. It was here, at Brad's house,
1:45.7	that Chase's path became clouded in mystery. Over the next 24 hours or so, Chase was supposedly inside
1:53.3	of Brad's home until he just wasn't anymore. Brad claimed that while he was on a set of
1:58.9	pre-arranged errands related to his work, Chase left his home and disappeared forever. As you can
2:05.2	imagine, this was not the entire story. Over the next several years, theories and rumors continued
2:12.1	to circulate around Brad and his rather suspicious story. Reporter Nancy Grace centered a series
2:18.6	of her own podcast around the mystery of Chase Mazner's disappearance, and was kind enough to
2:24.0	appear on my own program back in May of 2017. There, she shared much of the information she had
2:29.8	compiled up to that point. She would later interview Brad, and pressed him on many of the conflicting
