We're talking about delighting in Jesus, my new book that's coming out in December.

Actually, we're talking more about the big themes that came up in researching and writing

the book.

And not all of them actually got into the book.

So these are bonus conversations that we wanted to share with you, opening our Bibles,

kind of diving into our walk with Jesus, and looking at what the Bible says about who God is.

So today we're going to be talking about how we view God.

Is God a angry,

vengeful deity that needed to be appeased through the sacrifice of Jesus? Or is God a joyful,

creative maker who delights in the people he made and who delighted in rescuing us through the work of Jesus. So that's on

the table today. I'm so excited to jump in. Hannah, welcome. Thank you. Man, those are two very

different descriptions you just gave. Those aren't just slight personality differences. Those are two

very different viewpoints. Yeah, and kind of teeing them up that way,

I'm like, well, of course, it's one and not the other. But I've actually, like, believed both in my

lifetime. And in working with people who grew up in the church and people who are new to the

faith, you kind of hear both coming up. So I want to approach this conversation

with a lot of grace and not kind of like stringing up one as a straw man, but really kind of

looking at why is it that we view the God of the Bible the way we do. But before we do that,
