Good morning. Bill Handel here. It's a Saturday morning, and this is Handel on the law.

Marginal legal advice, where I tell you, you have absolutely no case.

A surprising U.S. Supreme Court decision.

And this had to do with a couple of cases in which the justices denied emergency requests

for an injunction requiring the state to permit

religious exemptions. And litigation is still continuing lower court, and the mandate is in place

in what this group of religious folks, in this case, nuns who are Catholic, and there's an additional case, too,

that joins the injunction lawsuit.

They said that the mandate is unconstitutional, and we have the religious right, First Amendment

religious right, to not engage or not accept the mandate

based on our religion.

Okay, religious exemptions and there are plenty throughout the country, which I just don't

get because anybody can say, I don't believe in this for my religious belief, even though every major religion out there

is okay with the vaccine mandate.

All right.

So they're trying to say the mandate should be stopped.

It's an injunction, temporarily stopped pending the court cases in the lower courts and then moving up the appeals court

and then the Supreme Court. So they're basically saying no mandate until it all happens. It could

happen next year. It could happen two years from now. You know what the court said? They rejected

the religious argument and said the mandate is fine. Now, is that surprising? You

bet it is with a six to three majority. I could have sworn that religious beliefs and religious

rights would supersede everything that the court does. This is a super conservative court and super conservatives
