Good morning and welcome the Kid News. I'm Tori. It's Tuesday, December 15th,

2020 and we begin with another professional sports team changing its name.

After years of protest by Native Americans and other

groups, Cleveland announced it will drop the Indians nickname as early as

2022. In the meantime, owner Paul Do Dolan says his club will not use an interim name

they'll continue to be known as the Indians through the 2021 season while they

work to come up with something more socially appropriate.

The team has been called the Indians since 1915 and transitioning to a new name will take time.

Changing uniforms, team equipment, stadium signs, and more.

This follows a similar move by Washington's football team to drop their red skin's name

as part of a national move to be more respectful about race.

Christmas decorations are in short supply.

The Wall Street Journal reports that most holiday decor were ordered nearly a year ago

either just before COVID hit or right after when many stores were shut down.

But even more people than normal are wanting to use decorations to brighten up what is for many a pretty dark season.

As a result store shelves are mostly bare, leaving many customers without the extra lights, or

they were looking for.

On the bright side for retailers,

they don't have to offer any deep discounts

to empty out their inventory. Another pandemic influence change this holiday season, a
