we begin with a David versus Goliath stunner in the sports world. Yesterday, the last

pick in the NFL draft someone traditionally referred to as Mr. Irrelevant essentially

decleated football's goat. 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, who until a week ago was

the backup to the backup toppled Tom Brady and his buccaneers 35 to 7. The broadcasters

were in awe and tweets were flying by halftime, but the shot that best summed up the game

came from the stands when Brock's dad was shown overwhelmed by emotion and pride. The

rookies college coach at Iowa State is not surprised. In fact, he predicted it. According

to NBC News, he told the scout for the Niners, something is going to happen and this guy

is going to make you proud that you guys drafted him. Safe to say that is indeed the case

for San Francisco this morning.

That was quick. Amazon pulled the plug on its December tips for drivers program after

just one day and the reason is the season. So many customers were heaping so much holiday

gratitude on the overworked carriers that Amazon hit its goal of 1 million thank yous

only 24 hours after launch. The short-lived promotion encouraged Amazon shoppers to say

Alexa thank my driver after a package drop off and Amazon would then give the courier

an additional $5 tip at no cost to the customer. The five drivers receiving the most thank yous

during the promotion also get $10,000 with another $10,000 going to the charity of their choice.

For online shoppers still wanting to share their appreciation, the Alexa message feature

remains active, but the Amazon paid tip is not.
