I've never authorised attacks on Cabinet members. I appointed them to their post because

they're the best people to carry out their jobs. But Kemi Bader Nock thinks that's even worse.

He says these attacks aren't authorised. That means he's lost control of number 10 because that's

where they're coming from. Also, conservatives accused the Prime Minister and Sports Secretary of cronyism

over the appointment of a Labour donor as football regulator.

She was reacting to moves by Sir Kier-Starmer's own allies to highlight talk of a plot to oust him from the top job.

Journalists were contacted on the eve of Prime Minister's questions in the Commons

to tell them about Number 10's fears of a leadership bid after the budget.

Suspicion was directed particularly at the Health Secretary Wes Streeting.
