The Science Secretary has accused the social media site X of monetising abuse

after the platform restricted its image-making AI assistant GROC to paid subscribers.

Users have been able to prompt the tool to digitally undress people without their consent

before sharing the results on X.

Liz Kendall said the abuse wasn't only vile, it was illegal.

Criminal imagery of children as young as 11, including girls, sexualised and topless.

This is child sexual abuse. She described horrifying images created of

women in bikinis tied up and gagged. Lives can and have been devastated by this content,

which is designed to harass, torment and violate people's dignity.

They are not harmless images.

They're weapons of abuse, disproportionately aimed at women and girls.

And they are illegal.
