Hello everyone and welcome to the podcast edition of the Thomas Jefferson

hour seated across from me Mr David Swenson the semi-permanent guest host of the

Thomas Jefferson hour today.

Look, it sounded like you were reaching for my middle name.

You don't even know it.

What is your middle name?

It is Ross.

No.

It is Ross.

I was named for a great educator who is a mentor to my father and lived in St. Paul.

David Ross Swenson.

And I always think of my mother when I hear that.

It feels a little like something out of friends. I mean,

David Ross. I interrupted you and I had no good reason to go.

Wow, so I was not stumbling over your name. But today was kind of a really interesting program because you sort of

of sprang on me these statements from the major speeches at the two political inventions.

You know at the beginning of the program what I said to President Jefferson I was not making it up.

I feel it's a duty of citizens to watch both of the conventions to listen to the speakers

as much as they can and to weigh all that information.

So I did that and I actually often came back to Jefferson because of my involvement with him in the show and what you've taught me and and there were a couple of speeches.

Cori Bookers in particular that he did what you always talk about.
