Welcome to the Feminine Podcast. This is Nancy Wilson, so glad you're joining me today.

And I thought I talked to you today about hope. What is hope? It's a verb that means

0:18.4

to believe or trust. And for Christians, this means we put our belief, our trust, our

0:25.2

hope in God and His Word. This hope in God makes us very different from unbelievers. But

0:33.5

not only that, it changes us and transforms us. The more we hope and trust in God, the

0:40.5

stronger our faith grows and the more comfort we have in Christ. So let's start with Psalm

0:46.7

31, 24. Be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

0:54.9

When we hope in the Lord, we grow into more courageous women and courage is certainly needed

in these uncertain days. If my help was in myself, I would feel very hopeless and helpless.

1:26.8

his help, whose hope is in the Lord, his God. What a wonderful promise. We are happy because

1:35.5

we have God for our help. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help. And so we

1:41.6

should look and act like we are happy. We are blessed. It's a deep, satisfying happiness,

1:49.3

not a light, frivolous happiness that comes and goes. But we creatures are tempted to put

1:55.9

our trust in many things that cannot help us or deliver us. And this is foolish. We cannot

2:02.8

put our hope in man. We should not put our hope in our own abilities, our own insights.

2:10.0

Not in the upcoming elections or in modern medicine or in our good genes or in the good

2:16.4

old days. We need something eternal and rock solid, unchanging, all-powerful to place our

2:24.0

hope in. And the only one worthy of that is God. Scriptures tell us to hope in God, to

2:31.0

hope in his Word, to hope in his mercy. Psalm 130, verse 5, I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
