and I had an oil leak, and the oil was spraying on the 1,500-degree exhaust, lost oil pressure,

The prop overspun, and I was 19.6 nautical miles from the nearest airport, and I needed to decide

whether I would ditch in the Strait of Malacca or take a chance and fly to Kuala Lumpur International, too.

And the problem with that was you had to fly over the dense jungle, which is the absolute worst-case scenario.
