| 1:43.9 | You've been my coach from afar. We have a lot of mutual friends. And so I feel like I already know you. Like we're best friends here. Well, let's be best friends then. Yeah. No, I feel like I know you because I'm very picky about people that I'm friends with. And I don't mean that in an arrogant way. It's that I choose who I'm around and who I have in my environment. And the people that you know, that we know mutually, that are mutual friends or people that I consider the most integral, heart-centered, loving, giving people. So I already know you. Yeah, thank you. You too. So I have so many questions. but for those of you that don't know, Jim Fortin, |
| 3:57.6 | it's going to be different than other interviews I've done. This is not coming, coming because I understood a specific hardship that he had and I wanted to know how he overcame it. This is because the way, I have those. Let me interrupt you. I have those and we can go there. I'm probably going to go there then, too, for sure. But the reason I really wanted him is you've really coached me from afar and you've changed my way of thinking about things. So I'm curious how you even got into that. So I wanted to go back because I know you're now considered, you know, this leader in subconscious transformation. And I want to know where that even came from. Like, did you know as a little kid, that's what you were going to be doing? Take me back. No, as a little kid, I had planned to be a politician, literally, as a kid. My mother said, I remember when I was six, my mother looked at my aunt and said, this kid talks so much. He's going to be a preacher or a salesman, and I don't know which. Because you talked a lot. Which is funny. I was a jabber jaw as a kid. And how I got here was in college, I was a political science, psychology double major. And this day and age, I don't follow any partisan politics, but I have worked in politics, and I have worked for an American president. But what happened is what got me here is in 1988, I was offered a job on United States Senator Lloyd Benson's staff. He was running for the vice presidency. And I turned it down and I went to work with an entrepreneur that I didn't know was a con man. Oh. I had money out of college and he conned me out of my money, and then he put a lot of my money into foreign trading. I'll make this story very quick. Lost it all, and it flipped my life upside down in my mid-20s. When I say lost at all, it'd be the equivalent of about 700,000 now, today's dollars. In your 20s. So that's traumatizing. |
