Summary

In this episode, Ed Mylett illustrates that one of our greatest wealth lies not in our possessions and material wealth but also in self-control.

According to Ed, what you allow is what will continue. For this reason, Ed illustrates to us how to properly regulate our emotions, and reminds us to be mindful primarily of what clouds our minds. Ed further explains that our emotions serve as a moral compass that ultimately sets the trajectory of our fate. Indeed, our thoughts have the power to shape our reality and greatly influence the quality of our life.

Finally, Ed reminds us that while we’re born to accomplish great things in life, we should never forget the fact that we’re also born to be happy.

0:41.9

one of the most important concepts you will ever hear. Why? Because being

0:47.6

successful, like one of my three pillars for success is mastering your emotions.

0:54.6

And what he talks about here is how a lot of people are waiting to feel an

emotion. They're pushing that emotion off. So they're waiting to have the house,

have the car, have the success before they feel the emotion. Like I got the car now I can feel it.

1:13.6

No, no, it's not how it works. You want to feel the emotions. And when you feel the emotions

1:20.4

before you get and have the thing, that's the thing that's going to lead you to actually get it

1:26.4

and have it. Such an important concept. Here is Ed.

1:34.2

Our obsessions become our possessions. You've heard this before. But if you really began to

1:40.3

think about what you think about on a regular basis, most of you are thinking about what you're

1:44.3

worried about, you're afraid of and what you're concerned or anxious about. And you don't take

1:48.0

control of your thoughts. You don't take control about what you're putting in your mind.

1:52.4

I'm a decent example of making that shift. I do take control of it. And what I do when I know

1:57.9

I'm having ones that don't serve me, I go, I'm intentional about it. When you're intentional

2:02.0

about something that loses its power over you, once you're aware you're doing something that can

2:06.0

affect you like it can when you're not aware. So I'm a negative thinker. I love to worry.

2:12.9

I have this habit. Now I'm going to be overly cheesy with you because it's all dudes in here.

2:17.8

But you have an emotional home. You have a series of emotions you live with regularly, don't you?
