Yeah, good to be here here so your wineries in central

tago in new zealand yeah and how did it get started as a winery what was the

backstory where how does it get started as a winery well first it's a piece of

land ripin itself is not so much a brand is actually a place.

It's a very unique piece of land that was bought by my great grandfather in 1912.

So yeah, we've been on the land for 100 years last year and four generations on the farm.

The third generation of those farmers was my father, Rolf, and he started experimenting with

Vittis-Vinifer in the early 70s and then planted the first

commercial block in 1982.

So that's really the beginning of it, but that was sort of the continuation of a long association of our

family with that piece of land.

So your father, Plan of Divines and where did he come from and what was the story with

your dad? So yeah he he grew up as a young boy in New Zealand in the

South Island of New Zealand obviously.

And there was two things.

It was firstly his family, our family,

at the time were warehousing soft goods really into New Zealand and in Dunedin, which was the largest port

town in the time. And so he grew up in that family, but he was sort of looked after or cared for by his grandparents, my great

grandfather and grandmother for one reason or another. Now that's how it happened.
