Hello everybody. Welcome to the Love Our Podcast. I am your host, Ms. Kevin on stage and I am joined by my husband and co-host. The Kevin on stage.

We want to take a moment before we get into the shenanigans that often is the love of our podcast to take a moment and check in with folks.

How are you guys doing? We have a very special guest here with us, Iris, called, well, she is from, married at her site, Seize the Nine.

I am so grateful that she decided to join us and listen, we are going to talk about some of the things. But what we cannot do is not address the elephant in the room, which is racism in America.

America, and it is the day that we are filming is on Blackout Tuesday. And so I think we're all feeling really heavy today. And so I think it would be an authentic and disingenuous to not at least check in and see how you guys are doing.

I think all I can really say is I am surviving. I don't feel, I don't feel prospering. I feel a little like, dang, man.

Yeah.

You're master.

You know, we go through topics to find out, you know, what to be on the podcast. And it's just all violence protests this that arguing with white people who don't understand.

And it is what I just want to say. And I don't want to hijack the whole episode.

Some white people don't want to understand.

It's just easier to be like, nah, because if you want to understand, then you're going to have to look at yourself in the mirror.

You're going to have to understand how this world is different for you. And it's just easier to make excuses for why this isn't like that.

That's why he should have complied. They shouldn't did. There's a right way and a wrong way.

Because if you really sat down and listen, then you have to acknowledge, actually, you know what, man, this is wrong.

Yeah.

And this isn't the same for me. And that's why I feel like a lot of people are just like, nope, nope, nope, nope.

Because if you don't say that, you got to look at a mirror and be like, actually, this is kind of wrong.

And people don't want to do that hard work. It's much easier to continue to blame and put your head in the same.

Keep your shield on.

Yeah. But people in their lives like that, they know they should be better about parents and going back to school.

And they put their head in the sand about that. They absolutely going to put their head in the sand about racism.
